MKP are delighted to announce that we have been presented with a Caterpillar Supplier Quality Excellence Award. MKP welcomed Martin Brett from Perkins Engines to their Bletchley based factory to present the Supplier Quality Excellence Award for the second consecutive year.
Achieving the Bronze award in 2015, MKP are one of only two UK based suppliers to be presented the Silver award in 2016.
The award has been achieved by surpassing customer expectations in continuous improvement, quality and delivery performance, having supplied over 307,000 pressed, welded and fabricated components into Caterpillar Perkins.
In 2012 MKP was awarded the General Motors Supplier Quality Excellence Award. This means that MKP are in the top 5% of all GM suppliers in Europe and in the top 7% worldwide. This award recognizes suppliers that have demonstrated the highest levels of Quality over a twelve month period. One of the criteria’s is to supply zero parts per million rejects for twelve consecutive months.
In 2008 Milton Keynes Pressings were very pleased to receive the Silver Award at the RoSPA Occupational Health & Safety Awards ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel in Birmingham. David Rawlings, RoSPA Awards Manager said “Milton Keynes Pressings Ltd has shown a commitment to protecting the health and well being of its employees and others. We hope other businesses and organisations will follow its lead and strive for continuous improvement in health and safety management”. Later in the year the Company was pleased to achieve registration to BS OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health & Safety Management System.
The Company again won one of the prestigious RoSPA Occupational Health & Safety Awards. David Rawlings, RoSPA Awards Manager said “Milton Keynes Pressings have demonstrated how seriously they take health and safety management and are a fine example to many other companies. We would like to see more organisations following their lead by providing a positive example”.
In 2006, MKP was named COMPANY of the YEAR by the Confederation of British Metalforming. This prestigious national award was presented at a special ceremony at the Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club during the annual Metals Industry Dinner. The award was presented on behalf of the CBM by Karen Brady, Managing Director of Birmingham City Football Club, and John Houseman, Director General of the CBM.

The RoSPA Awards are not just about reducing the number of accidents and cases of ill-health at work; they are also about ensuring that organisations have good health and safety management systems in place. They help to reinforce the message that good health and safety is good business and clearly demonstrate an organisation’s commitment to the achievement of high levels of performance in this crucial area
In June 2004 the Company was presented with two awards, the ‘Business Excellence Award’ and ‘Manufacturer of the Year Award’ by Milton Keynes and North Bucks Chamber of commerce. The Awards were presented at the Annual Chamber Dinner at Whittlebury Hall by Sean Hickey, Chief Executive of the Chamber, and Terry Waite CBE, who was the guest speaker for the evening.
Milton Keynes Pressings Ltd received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for International Trade 2001. The Company was one of only two companies to have received the award that year within Buckinghamshire and the entire workforce were extremely proud of the achievements being recognised.

Increased production of Vauxhall’s Vivaro vans has led to engineering firm Milton Keynes Pressings (MKP) providing job security for its workforce...Read More
MKP played a major part in Vauxhall’s launch of the new van last year. It supplies 12 component parts including various cross members and bulkhead panels to Vauxhall at its plant in Luton.
The award-winning manufacturer, which produces metal pressings and welded assemblies into many different industries, is a family owned business with a workforce of over 200. It operates from two sites in Milton Keynes with a floorspace of 100,000sq ft. About 60 per cent of MKP clients are first-tier automotive manufacturers including Aston Martin, Bentley and Lotus.
MKP’s managing director, Mike Read, said “The company’s progress has been built on supplying excellent customer service and solving engineering and manufacturing solutions whilst remaining competitive in a global market place. We are proud to have supplied Vauxhall since 1989 and very pleased the new Vivaro’s planned 10-year production life provides us the opportunity to provide job security for our workforce.”

Another landmark for Milton Keynes Pressings, an amazing achievement to appear on the prestigious list compiled by Grant Thornton UK LLP; one of the world’s leading organisations of independent assurance, tax and advisory firms.
